Xabi Alonso is still the main protagonist of the information media in Madrid

The possible signing of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid remains the main focus of current major newspapers and national sports. The meeting on Sunday between the white and the Liverpool club to discuss the signing of the player network has given rise to numerous interpretations. While some newspapers, including the Ace, talk of "rapprochement", others, led by Brand, differ by saying that "no agreement" and that negotiations are not progressing. "

"Summit in Barcelona for the signing of Xabi Alonso." This opens the newspaper As today's edition, which has the general executive manager of Real Madrid, José Ángel Sánchez, traveled to the city "to have the first contact face to face with Christian Purslow, general manager of Liverpool" . According to this newspaper, the positions between the clubs are closer and thus the signing of San Sebastian by all white "is only a matter of time." It also reproduces some of the statements Purslow in stating that the meeting with the manager of Real Madrid has left him "very good impression." The player, who disputed some minutes in the match network box that faced the front of the Espanyol, spoke only to say he hoped "that this is resolved as soon as possible."

As for the possible arrival of Xabi Alonso would be "the cherry" of a Real Madrid player would have four of 'The Red' in the eleven titles presumed-Casillas, Ramos, Albiol Xabi and himself. On inside pages, the Madrid sports daily keeps track of minutes played by each player of Real Madrid so far this preseason, "Raul and Benzema has been the preferred front, while the Christian is the third most used by Pellegrini." On the other hand, As echoes of information which states that the Inter Sneijder wants to take as given.

Make reading on the meeting yesterday by Jose Angel Sanchez and Christian Purslow is very different than the daily Ace for this period, the "result of the conversation was exactly the same as that of the dozens of times that both clubs can talking about the Basque midfielder throughout the summer: there is no agreement. " According to Mark, "there was no progress of any kind" because "neither gave in his position." If the option fails to Xabi Alonso, Mark insists that Madrid would trigger the plan B, which is nothing more than to go for Defour.

This journal reflects the statements of the coach of Liverpool, Rafa Benitez, on the Basque midfielder: "He still has three years of contract and would like to continue," while the player's view is that "I can not do more."

Like other newspapers, ABC reflects the meeting yesterday by the managers of Real Madrid and Liverpool player Xabi Alonso. According to ABC, the center is closer to Valdebebas but there is still a considerable distance, "appealing to the claims of both clubs has been" reduced. "

Following the same line of daily Marca, El Mundo says that after the meeting yesterday, the clubs have still not reached an agreement with the player, although there is an open door and negotiations will resume in the coming days. " If not come to fruition, according to the Madrid daily activate the plan B, which is none other than go for the footballer's Standard Liege, Defour.

In its issue today, the reason is in the operation out of Real Madrid, and more specifically in the possibilities of progress in the Dutch players: "The operation of the clan out of the Dutch costumes Madrid begins to be kept unlocked. All of them have digested suitability hold in another. "

As: Xabi Alonso, total pulse
This journal focuses on the sports that seem to keep negotiating Real Madrid and Liverpool for Xabi Alonso. According to As, the Spanish international had his team Barcelona-Espanyol-face with the face of few friends and was passing wrong "because" its main objective is to get out of Anfield. "I will not say anything, anything can only serve to worsen all," said Alonso on his arrival in Spain.

On the other hand, the second page of the newspaper you see an interview in which he argues that, according to recent votes in the Golden Ball and FIFA World Player, seven of the ten best footballers in the world play Spanish League: Real Madrid in the three Christian, Kaká and Casillas, three in the Barcelona-Messi, Iniesta and Xabi or Ibrahimovic and-a-Villa in Valencia.

MARCA: The superplan B is called Defour
The cover of this newspaper's sports theme possibly hiring Steven Defour by Real Madrid as an alternative to Xabi Alonso. "He has 21 years and is on the agenda of the greats of Europe. The price of this has made international mediocentro champion Standard Liege to-be around 20 million euros "are invoked in the main page MARK. Xabi Alonso also has some role in that newspaper on the grounds that "Alonso arrived in Barcelona last night in despair: I can not do more to go to Real Madrid."

Already we can see inside pages in an interview with Fabio Cannavaro in the Madrid ex zaguero says that "Real Madrid Kaká this will be even more formidable." On the basketball section states that Garbajosa and Prigioni are new players of Real Madrid in the absence of some minimal leftovers.

El Mundo, ABC and public agree: "Tacos to receive Ronaldo"
The World: The legs are insured for Cristiano 100 million
In the sports section of this newspaper we read that "Real Madrid is covered with a policy to record a serious injury to its star ... Following the entry of Juventus, the club feared that the closure is opened. "

Public: The consent of the hardness Juventus shows an ugly path
An article signed by L.J. Monin argues that at the meeting of the Peca Cup Juventus Turin we saw that "it seems that Cristiano Ronaldo will go to seek returns in many games this season. The entire Italian did last Friday with effrontery. "

ABC: "Cristiano has had tough opponents in the first pre-season matches
Already there are many voices that call for harsh punishment of the defenses that are proving to Cristiano Ronaldo. Another article, this time signed by Julian Avila, affecting the same, arguing that "the Portuguese know how you are getting the opposite when you are wearing the shirt of Real Madrid. It is the mode of payment of a style of play and very peculiar near a leñazos.

The King of Spain, Honourary Centenary President
In the prelude to the celebrations of the Real Madrid Centenary, Florentino Pérez and the Board of Directors unanimously agreed to offer His Majesty the King of Spain the Honourary Centenary President distinction. The monarch accepted the honorary presidency with his habitual modesty.

A Centenary riddled with successes
The Club Centennial took place in 2002 and attracted worldwide acclaim. From the sporting perspective, Madrid won their ninth European Cup after defeating Bayer Leverkusen in Glasgow 2-1; the first European Super Cup against Feyenoord with an identical result (2-1); and their third Intercontinental Cup beating Club Olimpia by 2-0 in Tokyo. One could not have wished for a better 100-year anniversary.

Capello's comeback
On 5 July 2006, Fabio Capello signed for Madrid for the second time in his life. The Italian manager asked for and got the signings of Cannavaro, Emerson, Diarra, Reyes and Van Nistelrooy. The winter transfer window saw three new players join the Whites: Marcelo, Higuaín and Gago.

Honourary Club Member Joseph Blatter
FIFA President Joseph Blatter was awarded the Club’s Gold and Diamond Insignia by Honourary President Alfredo di Stéfano, whom Blatter considers to be the all-time greatest football player. Real Madrid also made the FIFA Premier an Honourary Club Member.

The first of the two titles won by the basketball section in 2007 was the ULEB Cup. Real Madrid were practically invincible throughout the competition and defeated Unics Kazan and Lietuvos Rytas in the semifinals and final, respectively.

League champions
The ‘Together we can, together we stand’ campaign worked wonders and got the fans and the team to stand together and eventually win the Club’s 30th football League title. The Whites won the title after an impressive comeback against Mallorca the last day of the competition (3-1). It was Ramón Calderón’s first football title as President.

ACB Champions
One week later, the Basketball team also won its 30th League title by defeating Barcelona in the playoffs at the Palau Blaugrana. Pamesa and Joventut also fell against them on their road to victory. Felipe Reyes earned MVP honours in the final.

March 6 2008
Real Madrid turns 106 today. Since its foundation, the Club has been extremely successful and has embodied the greatest of sports values: to always have a fighting spirit and respect your opponent.

Back to Back league titles
The 2007/08 season began with a new project under new head coach Bernd Schuster and several new faces in the lineup: Robben, Heinze, Sneijder, Drenthe, Saviola, and Metzelder. Real Madrid took hold atop the table in Matchday 2 with a 0-5 victory over Villarreal, a position they never abandoned throughout the year. The Whites ended the campaign as the highest scoring (84 goals) and the least scored upon (36) team. They also established a new La Liga record by notching 85 points, 18 more than third place Barcelona.

Eighth Spanish Super Copa
After winning their second consecutive league title, Real Madrid faced Valencia in the Spanish Super Cup prior to the start of the 2008/09 season. Valencia won the first leg 3-2, but despite falling behind in the return leg at the Bernabeu, the Whites mounted an incredible turn around to claim their eighth Spanish Super Cup.

Florentino Perez begins second term as President
Florentino Perez returned to the presidency of Real Madrid on 1 June 2009 during an election campaign in which he ran unopposed, perhaps due to the overwhelming support of members as evidenced by several polls taken by major media outlets. Under the slogan "Excitement Returns", the Florentino Perez candidacy brought about a sense of optimism that helped raise spirits after experiencing the dominance displayed by Barcelona. A new and exciting project backed by the legacy left by the same Board that ruled over the club for nearly six years is underway; six years during which Real Madrid lived some of its most memorable highlights ever.

Zinedine Yazid Zidane (pronounced [ˌzineˈdin jaziːd ziˈdan ]; born 23 June 1972 in Marseille), popularly nicknamed Zizou, is a French former professional footballer of Algerian Kabyle Berber descent. A midfielder, he was a member of the French national team that won the 1998 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2000, and was also the recipient of the Golden Ball where he captained the French side to the 2006 World Cup final; a match that saw his career end in controversy after he was sent off for headbutting Italy defender Marco Materazzi.

He played for four European clubs, including Juventus and Real Madrid, with whom he won Serie A and La Liga championships, including lifting the 2002 UEFA Champions League trophy with Real after scoring the match-winning goal. One of only two three-time FIFA World Player of the Year winners (Ronaldo the other), he also finished in the top three an additional three occasions, and was also named European Footballer of the Year in 1998. In 2004, fans voted him atop UEFA's fiftieth-anniversary Golden Jubilee Poll, and he was included in Pelé's selection of the 125 greatest living footballers.
